3. Apple.com
Apple is conducting ground surveys with vehicles around the world to collect data to improve Apple Maps and to support the Look Around feature. We may periodically revisit and recollect data in some of those locations to maintain a high-quality, up-to-date map.
Apple is also conducting surveys with portable systems in select pedestrian areas (for example, certain streets in London that cannot be driven). Some pedestrian surveys use a backpack system to collect data that may be used directly in Apple Maps, such as in the Look Around feature

. Other pedestrian surveys use iPads, iPhones, or other devices to collect data for map improvement purposes. These pedestrian surveys allow us to improve and update Apple Maps in areas where vehicles simply can’t go while
using the same privacy protections as the Apple Maps vehicles.
We are committed to protecting your privacy while conducting these surveys. For example, we will censor faces and license plates on images that are published in Look Around.
If you have comments or questions about this process, your privacy rights, or would like to request that a face, license plate, or your own house be censored, please contact us. For more details on how Apple Maps protects
your privacy click here.
See below to understand where we will be mapping the world next. You can see a full list of countries where we are conducting ground survey data here.

6. mapbox.com
Maps change how we build cities, deliver commerce, navigate the world, and understand our planet. Mapbox is a mapping and location cloud platform for developers — we don’t have an app, we’re the building blocks; the SDKs, and
APIs for developers and designers to build real-time location awareness into their own apps.
700 million monthly active users touch our maps. This creates a feedback cycle, where our AI-powered data pipeline processes +300 million miles of anonymized and aggregated live road telemetry data daily — allowing Mapbox to
continuously update the map everywhere in the world. Businesses need continuously updating traffic, roads, and places around the world and our platform shares this live map with developers via our scalable mapping software
components (maps, navigation, search) for mobile and web applications, logistics and dispatching, and in-car automotive navigation.

Since changing the way people drive, we have never stopped thinking about how we can improve how the world moves.
Our highly accurate maps, navigation software, real-time traffic information, and APIs enable smart mobility on a global scale, making the roads safer, the drive easier, and the air cleaner.
We solve the world’s mobility challenges

Our story
It started with a simple idea: Make digital navigation accessible for everyone.
Four like-minded entrepreneurs founded TomTom in 1991, and by 2004 their dream of portable navigation was a reality for millions of drivers around the world. The first TomTom sat-nav became one of the
fastest-selling consumer technology devices in history, making our name synonymous with navigation.
Today, TomTom is the leading independent location technology specialist. Our decades of driver insights go into everything we do – maps for automated driving, navigation software for top car brands, maps APIs for
leading tech companies, and traffic data for all.
Our technologies are a vehicle for us to take on bigger challenges. Rather than accept road accidents, emissions, and traffic congestion as facts of life, we are actively working to solve these issues that affect
us all.
Together with our customers and partners, we’re shaping the future of mobility and creating a world that moves better together.
